Just For Us Just For Us is group directed, promoting emotional health and wellness. A fun, safe place where you feel accepted empowered and inspired! Upcoming topics to look forward to this winter include: “Desire Mapping”, making crafts, exploring homemade beauty products and other inspirational and creative projects. Parents are welcome to stop by at any time, should they have any questions or concerns. Teens! Come check us out and play a game of pool, Playstation, Wii, or watch movies on our big screen TV, surf the net, meet other teens in the community or just hang out and chat with your friends. We have a wide selection of board games, movies and video games as well as a stocked canteen. Join the Teen Council! We are always looking for new members. Are you a family member, friend or support person of a CAF member who is expecting to be released medically? Did you know- Personnel Selection Officers are there to: -help members create a transition plan for their next career -help you identify the first steps to take -ensure you are prepared to begin your transition from military to civilian life -provide family with information on the process of release Captain Janice Wood, Personnel Selection Officer will be at the MFRC on March 5th from 3:00pm to 5:00pm to meet with family members and answer your questions about creating a transition plan in a confidential environment. Fun Factory will begin on Wednesday January 17, 2017 Fun Factory is a fun filled program for children between the ages of 5 – 8 years old. This structured program is designed to support children in their communication and social development and allows kids to just have fun! Activities and events include: games, arts and crafts, baking and cooking skills, science and engineering, sports and recreation and so much more! Fun Factory is held every Wednesday evening from 5:30pm – 7:00pm in the Multi-purpose room at the Community Centre, 19 Market St. The cost per session is $15.00 or a $2.00 drop-in fee will apply. Each session runs for 9 to 10 weeks, depending on events and statutory holidays. Additional fees may apply for special events, e.g. science north trip, bowling, dances etc. All activities and events are implemented and supervised by staff and volunteers. Mindfulness Program Join us to learn how mindfulness can enrich your life. This practice will improve your emotional and physical well-being! We meet once a week for lighthearted discussions, sharing and mindfulness mediation practice in a safe non-judgemental environment. Come BREATHE with us…we meet Wednesday evenings 6-7:30pm in the lower of the MFRC. What is Mindfulness? Youth Corner will begin on Wednesday January 17, 2018 Youth Corner is a program for youth between the ages of 9-12 years old.  This program is designed to allow youth to have fun interacting with their peers while enhancing the development of social/emotional, communication, and leadership skills.  All activities are founded by youth, organized and supervised by staff.  Youth will have the opportunity to participate in coordinated events such as recreational and leisure activities and games and other social activities.
