We hope the following information will help you make an informed decision in regards to the care you are seeking for your family.
The Little Wings Child Care Centre is located at 22 Wing North Bay.
Our centre is a non-profit organization, which supports military and civilian families living in the North Bay area. We fall under the direction of the Military Family Resource Centre’s Board of Directors and are licensed by the Ministry of Youth and Children’s Services. We are mandated to follow federal, provincial and municipal legislation. Ongoing and annual evaluations of the Centre are held regularly in order to ensure that we follow standard procedures.
At Little Wings we strive to provide a safe and secure environment while facilitating a range of learning opportunities that support and enhance the growth of the whole child physically, intellectually, creatively, emotionally and socially. Children with special needs are welcome.
Our curriculum is designed to reflect and enhance children’s developmental stages. Daily routines include opportunities for individual work (free play), small and large group activities, creative and dramatic activities, indoor and outdoor gross motor play as well as time to strengthen self-help abilities through tidying up, dressing and toileting routines. Two nutritious snacks, a full course lunch and a rest period complete the day.
Programs
The Little Wings Child Care is licensed under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 for a maximum of 72 children, 0 to 12 years of age. Parents/guardians may choose the following options when enrolling their child/ren:
- Full day (5-10 hrs per day)
- Half day (3-5 hrs, 7:00am – 12:00pm or 12:00pm – 5:30pm)
- Drop In (3 hrs or less, additional charge if staying over lunch)
- Before and After school care
- Full day Mini Camp for school-age children (March Break/Summer/PA Days )
Qualifying families may be eligible for subsidized fees.
Please note, Half Days and our Drop In Program are only available to Canadian Forces families.
At the time of enrolment, please advice our Supervisor or your decision in regards to your attendance.
Hours of Operation
Our centre’s regular hours of operation are from 7:00am to 5:30pm from Monday to Friday.
Extended hours, 6:00am to 7:00am from Monday to Friday are available to Canadian Forces families upon a 24-hour notice.
The Centre will be closed on the following Statutory Holidays.
- New Year’s Day
- Family Day
- Good Friday
- Easter Monday
- Victoria Day
- Canada Day
- Civic Holiday
- Labour Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
- Boxing Day
Please note that we are open on Remembrance Day.
