Coffee Connections Coffee Connections is time set aside for military spouses to get together for a fun relaxing morning of sharing stories and experiences, meeting new friends, learning new skills or just having a break. HALF DONE HOBBIES Open to Spouses, Partners, and Parents of Actively Serving Members, Transitioning and Post Service Families Each Monday from September 17, 2018 to Monday Nov 12, 2018 Time:  6pm to 7:30pm Location:  MFRC Teen Centre (Adults Only) Community Centre, 19 Market Street Ever Experience a Work Related Absence? If so, come over to the North Bay MFRC’s Teen Centre and pull out the unfinished knitting, hand sewing, quilting, scrapbooking or other projects from the closet and join us to finally get them done as we socialize over a coffee or tea!! All participants must bring their own materials-we will provide the coffee and tea! Free of charge, registration is required. Fun Factory is a fun filled program for children between the ages of 5 – 8 years old. This structured program is designed to support children in their communication and social development and allows kids to just have fun! Activities and events include: games, arts and crafts, baking and cooking skills, science and engineering, sports and recreation and so much more! Fun Factory is held every Wednesday evening from 5:30pm – 7:00pm in the Multi-purpose room at the Community Centre, 19 Market St. The cost per session is $15.00 or a $2.00 drop-in fee will apply. Each session runs for 9 to 10 weeks, depending on events and statutory holidays. Additional fees may apply for special events, e.g. science north trip, bowling, dances etc. All activities and events are implemented and supervised by staff and volunteers. Mindfulness Program Join us to learn how mindfulness can enrich your life. This practice will improve your emotional and physical well-being! We meet once a week for lighthearted discussions, sharing and mindfulness meditation practice in a safe non-judgemental environment. Come BREATHE with us… We meet Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm-7:30pm in the lower level of the MFRC. What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. Youth Corner is a program for youth between the ages of 9-12 years old. This program is designed to allow youth to have fun interacting with their peers while enhancing the development of social/emotional, communication, and leadership skills.  All activities are founded by youth, organized and supervised by staff.  Youth will have the opportunity to participate in coordinated events such as recreational and leisure activities and games and other social activities. Youth Corner is held every Wednesday evening from 7:00pm – 8:30pm in the Multi-purpose room at the Community Centre, 19 Market St. On a number of occasions Youth Corner will be held at the Teen Centre (Community Centre-19 Market St.) for youth to experience all the exciting things that are in store for them once they are of age to attend. Teen Centre Teen Centre Hours: Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 6-10pm The Teen Centre, located in the Community Centre, 19 Market Street, offers a variety of activities and events that are designed by Teens and supervised by Staff. Parents are welcome to stop by at any time, should they have any questions or concerns. Teens! Come check us out and play a game of pool, Playstation, Wii, or watch movies on our big screen TV, surf the net, meet other teens in the community or just hang out and chat with your friends. We have a wide selection of board games, movies and video games as well as a stocked canteen. Join the Teen Council! We are always looking for new members. We meet Friday mornings from 9:00am-12:00pm at the Teen Centre - 19 Market St. Upcoming topics to look forward to this fall include: “The Artist’s Way” a 12 week course in discovering and recovering your creative self, making crafts, exploring homemade beauty products and other inspirational and creative projects.
