Coffee Connections Coffee Connections is time set aside for military spouses to get together for a fun relaxing morning of sharing stories and experiences, meeting new friends, learning new skills or just having a break. Self-Compassion Yoga A perfect way to end your busy day! Join us in the lower level of the MFRC on Wednesday’s from 5:30pm-6:30pm for gentle self-compassion yoga and calming relaxation. This involves deep breathing, gentle stretching and quiet mediation. Please register early to claim your spot, space is limited! Fun Factory is a fun filled program for children between the ages of 5 – 8 years old. This structured program is designed to support children in their communication and social development and allows kids to just have fun! Activities and events include: games, arts and crafts, baking and cooking skills, science and engineering, sports and recreation and so much more! Fun Factory is held every Wednesday evening from 5:30pm – 7:00pm in the Multi-purpose room at the Community Centre, 19 Market St. The cost per session is $15.00 or a $2.00 drop-in fee will apply. Each session runs for 9 to 10 weeks, depending on events and statutory holidays. Additional fees may apply for special events, e.g. science north trip, bowling, dances etc. All activities and events are implemented and supervised by staff and volunteers. Mindfulness Program Join us to learn how mindfulness can enrich your life. This practice will improve your emotional and physical well-being! We meet once a week for lighthearted discussions, sharing and mindfulness meditation practice in a safe non-judgemental environment. Come BREATHE with us… We meet Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm-7:30pm in the lower level of the MFRC. What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. Youth Corner is a program for youth between the ages of 9-12 years old. This program is designed to allow youth to have fun interacting with their peers while enhancing the development of social/emotional, communication, and leadership skills.  All activities are founded by youth, organized and supervised by staff.  Youth will have the opportunity to participate in coordinated events such as recreational and leisure activities and games and other social activities. Youth Corner is held every Wednesday evening from 7:00pm – 8:30pm in the Multi-purpose room at the Community Centre, 19 Market St. On a number of occasions Youth Corner will be held at the Teen Centre (Community Centre-19 Market St.) for youth to experience all the exciting things that are in store for them once they are of age to attend.
