The Veteran Family Program is a four-year pilot extending the Military Family Services Program (MFSP) to medically-released Veterans and their families for a period of two years from the date of release.
When a Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) member makes the transition from active service to veteran status, their family does too. Releasing from the CAF can be challenging for members and families, but even more so when the release is the result of a medical condition.
Support is available to your family as you journey through this transition.
You can access these extended support services directly from seven participating Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) pilot locations including Esquimalt, BC; Edmonton, AB; Shilo, MB; Trenton, ON; North Bay, ON; Valcartier, QC and Halifax, NS.
The Veteran Family Program is meant to support the approximately 1,200 CAF members who medically release each year, as well as the approximately 700 military spouses and 900 children impacted by their release.
