You and your family are invited to take part in 22 Wing’s first Healing Circle fire on Monday, 8 November 2021 — National Aboriginal Veterans’ Day — starting at sunset (roughly 1700 hrs). In the wake of the recent residential school discoveries, and as a follow up to the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, this traditional Healing Circle will further promote cultural awareness. The celebration will include smudging, prophecy reading, and time for reflection.
The fire will be held in the grass area in the RHUs at intersection of Airport Rd and Sterling Ave and is expected to last approximately 90 minutes. To minimize vehicle traffic, all are encouraged to park at the gym and walk to the location. For those inclined, all are welcome to bring their own chair or blanket. Dress of the day or comfortable civilian attire is most appropriate.
Please join us by sharing in the Healing Circle experience. All participants are to respect COVID-19 protocols and adhere to public health measures.
